On Saturday we had the pleasure of supporting the Higham Ferrers Christmas Sparkle as we were asked by Christmas Fair the Town Council to provide First Aid cover for the event.
Supporting these types of event are great for Northamptonshire Search and Rescue as they not only give us the opportunity to put our First Aid skills to the test when needed but also give us the opportunity to engage with the community, spread awareness of our organisation and the work that we do and also give us the opportunity for additional fund raising. Of course the team also got to indulge in some of the wonderful selection of festive food and drink on offer.
The event was a huge success with thousands of local residents enjoying the stalls, rides and entertainment on the traffic free streets of the town centre. Thankfully we had relatively few first aid incidents to attend to with just a couple of minor bumps and falls for us to support.
We were also able to collect a cheque for £250 from our work supporting Rushdens 'Classics in the Park' event earlier this year. Thank you to RHTS for your continued support.
