Sundays are often a day of rest but not for members of Northamptonshire Search and Rescue.
Last weekend we were invited to provide first aid cover at 'Bark in the Park' which was organised by Rushden Town Council. The event, held in Hall Park, attracted hundreds of lovely Labradors, silly Spaniels and cute Cockapoos along with many other breeds.
Fortunately, it was also a very safe event, so our team were able to enjoy the great weather and speak to lots of people about what our volunteers do and in particular what role Search Dogs play in helping to find vulnerable missing people.
Search Dog Ted and Handler Ian took part in the Mayor’s Choice Event where Ted was awarded a 4th Place rosette. Well done Ted!
The best event of the day had to be the Fastest Sausage Pizza Eater contest, which saw an enormous Newfoundland Old English Sheepdog cross gobble down its slice in record time.
