Northamptonshire Search & Rescue is a registered Charity (No. 1155712)
Northamptonshire Search and Rescue (NSAR) are a group of trained volunteers who are on call 24hrs a day, 365 days a year. The team today is extremely well trained and equipped. We regularly assist Northamptonshire Police and other statutory emergency services. When we are called out the Police will call our Duty Operations Manager who activates the team using a specialist SMS system.
We are mainly called out to assist in the search for vulnerable missing people across the county’s 760 square miles (2,364 square kilometres) of Northamptonshire. The County has a combination of flood plains, forests, fields, Country Parks, rivers and lakes, for which the team train to deal with and work in or around. The County has a population of around 733,000, an increase of approx. 6% since 2011.
The Teams Incident Control Unit, and 4×4 Ambulance, are currently based in Rothwell and Kettering for Rapid deployment. Members are spread across the whole county, and we are always seeking new members.
We are made up entirely of volunteers, and rely solely on fundraising and donations to be able to continue this valuable resource.
